Marcia Gay Harden
Marcia Gay Harden, born August 14, 1959 in La Jolla (California), was the third daughter of five. Beverly Bushfield was her maternal grandmother, and Thad Harden being in active military service, was the father. The family was often moved. When they lived in Greece, she became interested in theater, and she attended Athens productions. Harden attended American Universities across Europe before returning to the US in 1983 and completed her education at the University of Texas. She earned an MFA from NYU and started her career as an actor. Miller's Crossing was the Coen Brothers humorous homage to the 1990 gangster movie, Miller's Crossing. Although Harden was in films in the year 1986 (in The Imagemaker, a lesser-known film The Imagemaker), she played a seductive woman in the film as her first major role. Harden got a positive review for her dramatic performance of Verna who was a seductive and mischievous moll. Harden then continued to perform consistently in supporting roles, including the role of Ava Gardner in Sinatra (1992) which was a biopic on television on Frank Sinatra.
