Awkwafina An American singer and actress began with a series of rap songs that dealt with issues of race and sexuality. The career of the singer and actress grew to Hollywood after she released a series of raps. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants as well as Koreans. Alongside classical music and jazz, Nora Lum began studying hip-hop in her teens. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism and women's studies at college, even studying Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. After graduating, she began to concentrate on music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an internet hit and was included in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. Some other hits that went viral included queef, a body positive song and the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The latter song was linked directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Apart from having a book published, her other career was as a singer. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, along with Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, in Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
